The 12 volt version have parallel input terminals to allow for ease of daisy chaining units together. The 12 volt units are built on a common blank printed circuit board; they are clearly marked as 12V during manufacture. This makes manufacturing most cost effective and the units the ideal choice where cost is an important factor.
